We were up out and on the dingy by 9 am and on our way to the Giant Tortoise Farm on San Cristobal Island. The bus ride was about 45 minutes and took us through a rain forest.
We were greeted once again by the adorable sea lions lounging everywhere.
The ride to the Tortoise farm was interesting and brought us through small towns and neighborhoods.
At the farm we were greeted immediately by a very large tortoise in the walk-way.
FROM THIS
TO THIS_ AMAZING. These tortoises live to be around 250 years old.
We were entertained once again watching them eat and fight with one another.
Back on the bus we headed to the airport for our flight to Lima.
Our flight was late so by the time we got to Lima it was after Midnight. Then we had to go through customs. We had been up since 6 am so it was a very long day. We were both dragging and found that we couldn’t keep up with Kelly and Patrick in the airport. They were hoping to get through customs first but we slowed them down. Sorry kids.
We finally arrived at the hotel after 1 am. We opened the door and couldn’t get the lights to turn on. Next thing I knew Kelly was standing there telling us to stick our door key in the slot provided on the wall to get the lights on. We had forgotten about that aspect – we had the same system when we stayed in Barcelona.
Once again another beautiful room in a beautiful hotel.
Finally, to bed and a good night’s sleep. We have an afternoon tour tomorrow so no early morning wake-up calls. YEAH!!!!!
